The application of the Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Vanuatu on the short-stay visa waiver has been suspended in regards to citizens of Vanuatu holding an ordinary passport issued by Vanuatu as of 25 May 2015.

From 4 May 2022, citizens of Vanuatu therefore need a visa to travel to the Schengen area (including to Germany).

Nationals of Vanuatu who live in Vanuatu and want to travel to Germany as tourists, to visit family and friends or on business trips have to lodge the application personally at the German Consulate Sydney.
