Fees for German ID Card Applications Submitted Abroad
Applications for ID cards can only be submitted in person by appointment during opening hours at the Embassy in Canberra, the Consulate General in Sydney, or our Honorary Consuls.
The following fees apply:

| Acceptance and forwarding of the application by an Honorary Consul | 102,00 EUR |
| Initial activation of the eID function | Free of charge |
| Deactivation of the eID function | Free of charge |
| Subsequent activation of the eID function | Free of charge |
| Setting the PIN upon collection | Free of charge |
| Changing the PIN (can also be done using your own card reader and app) | Free of charge |
| Change of address | Free of charge |
| Blocking (e.g., after loss or theft) Also possible using the blocking password via the blocking hotline: +49-180-1-33 33 33 (charges apply, also accessible from abroad) | Free of charge |
| Unblocking | Free of charge |
| If the service is not within our jurisdiction, each fee-based service will be increased by | 13,00 EUR |
