The Defence Attaché Staff advises and supports the German Ambassador to Australia in all matters concerning defence policy, security policy and the military. It is the link between the German Ministry of Defence and the Australian Department of Defence. The Embassy's Defence Attaché Staff consists of the Defence Attaché as the Head of Staff, the Deputy Defence Attaché, the Defence Armament Counsellor, the Head of the Defence Attaché’s Office and the Assistant to the Defence Attaché.
